The Summer Solstice is a time for divination. Peering into the unknown is a strength of the moon. Mugwort leads the way by opening the psychic channels. It can be used for spiritual cleansing, protection, healing, and consecration, and it can aid dream work, trance, and intuitive development. Mugwort was often worn as a midsummer’s belt and later burned to transfer ones suffering into the fire. It was one of the nine sacred herbs in Druid times that were used to drive out evil spirits.The Summer Solstice signifies when the Earth is at the fullness of her strength, fertility, and abundance. With Artemisia being one of the “Sacred 9 Herbs” she is most potent for harvesting at this auspicious time as its lore is attached to the solstice and herbal magick.
